Rappin Dad Derek Clark, a motivational speaker and keynote speaker on trauma, foster care, trauma informed care, adverse childhood experiences ACEs, childhood trauma, child welfare, early childhood education, juvenile justice, foster parents, school teachers, and mental health. As a child, Derek suffered unthinkable child abuse, abandonment and emotional distress before being turned over to the psychiatric hospital at age five. He was placed in the San Francisco bay area foster care system for 13 years. Eventually, with the help of foster parents and mentors he defied the artificial limitations imposed upon him.
