Hi! Welcome to Ludocriticism. This is a channel devoted to serious critique of video games. In recent years, a cottage industry has developed around taking games seriously as an art form and form of cultural expression. The only job of games media is no longer to just tell you what you should or (probably more importantly) shouldn't buy. And Youtube is no longer just a gaming platform for consumer advocates telling you what you should be angry about this week. There's a growing space where we can treat games neutrally, see the value in all different types and levels of quality, and develop a way of speaking about our medium in a precise and productive way. This is criticism, and it has been sorely lacking for the medium of video games...until now. Mini-Read is published monthly. Longer-form content is published alongside it on a when-it's-ready-basis.
